Paralegal II

About the Company:
Castillo Immigration Law Firm is dedicated to representing individuals on issues dealing with immigration visas, green cards, adjustment of status, asylum, family, humanitarian and employment based, court defense, and other important immigration by guiding individuals and families through the nuances of immigration laws and procedures.
Position Summary:
Performs administrative and paralegal duties for attorneys or legal firms. Utilizes a variety of sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, and legal codes to research and analyze legal topics. Drafts and edits legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, motions, and contracts. Conducts fact-finding, data collection, and analysis used to prepare statements and arguments. Manages, organizes, and archives documents with software tools and technology. Assists with scheduling and client correspondence. Typically reports to an attorney. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 year prior immigration experience, preferably in family, employment and court based immigration
  • Bilingual, English-Spanish Fluency, both oral and written
  • Thorough knowledge of legal principles, legal research techniques, legal terminology, and government regulations
  • Excellent legal drafting, professional level writing, and reliable and consistent verbal skills with internal teams and external clients in both languages
  • Strong and demonstrated interpersonal skills, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Experience with different types of Family based, Employment based, and court related cases.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, Inszoom, Lawpay, google drive
  • Ability to work with databases and on-line technological platforms
  • Ability to be detail-oriented, diligent, and flexible
  • Ability to handle conflicting time demands and focus on task completion with little direction or need for supervisory follow-up
  • Ability to work and maintain patience with diversified individuals of various ethnic backgrounds and professional competencies
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in a professional manner
  • Reliable punctuality and attendance
  • Must have the ability to lift, hold and move physical files
  • Experience with different types of Family based, Employment based, and court related cases.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to speak or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to sit for long periods of time and occasionally required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm,
